Once you work in ExpressPCB, you're pretty much locked in, though. Another option is PCB123, which I've never used before. I think Protel/Altium is too complex for what I do (I'm not an EE by trade), so it's probably overkill, and may be tougher to get access to the EE's workstation here (since it's nodelocked and we don't have floating licenses). ExpressPCB is really simple, but comparing it to Altium is like comparing MS Paint to Photoshop. I have used ExpressPCB and Protel/Altium before.
